About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join a software engineering team and contribute to the development, testing, maintenance, and improvement of software applications and services.

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, writing code, learning new technologies, and working collaboratively with experienced engineers. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in software development and is eager to build practical experience working on real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications and features.
• Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from other engineers.
• Troubleshoot software defects and investigate technical issues.
• Implement new features and enhancements under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with engineers, product team members, and other stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Participate in software development lifecycle activities including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Use version-control systems and established development workflows.
• Document technical decisions, implementation details, and troubleshooting steps.
• Learn and apply software engineering best practices.
• Contribute to improving application reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

• 0–2 years of relevant software development experience, including internships, co-op experience, academic projects, open-source contributions, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational knowledge of software development principles and programming concepts.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, C++, Go, or a comparable language.
• Understanding of data structures and basic algorithms.
• Familiarity with object-oriented or functional programming concepts.
• Familiarity with Git or another version-control system.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Willingness to learn new programming languages, frameworks, and development tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building software through academic, personal, internship, or professional projects.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and web services.
• Exposure to SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web development.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with automated testing and continuous integration practices.
• Experience working in an Agile or iterative software development environment.
• Familiarity with Docker or other development and deployment tools.
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal software projects.

Compensation & Benefits

Recommended salary range: $80,000–$105,000 per year.

This is a full-time W-2 position. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, skills, geographic considerations, and other lawful factors.

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote position available to candidates located in the United States, subject to applicable employment and payroll requirements in the candidate's state of residence.
