About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with at least 4+ years of professional software development experience to design, build, and enhance scalable applications and technology platforms within a large enterprise environment.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and building reliable software that operates at scale.

You will work closely with Software Engineering, Product Management, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, Data, Security, and Quality Engineering teams to develop modern applications, APIs, services, and platform capabilities.

The Software Engineer will participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including technical design, development, testing, code review, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for engineers who understand that production software requires more than functional code. Successful candidates will consider performance, scalability, security, maintainability, observability, reliability, and user impact throughout the engineering process.

Depending on the product area, you may work with cloud-native applications, microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, databases, containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-enabled product capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software applications and services.
• Build reliable backend services, APIs, integrations, and enterprise application capabilities.
• Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-tested production code.
• Participate in technical design and software architecture discussions.
• Develop solutions using modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies.
• Diagnose production issues and implement sustainable technical solutions.
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
• Develop unit, integration, and automated tests to maintain software quality.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
• Support CI/CD, automated deployment, monitoring, and observability practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, Data teams, and business stakeholders.
• Modernize existing applications and help reduce technical debt.
• Evaluate appropriate use of AI-assisted engineering tools and emerging development technologies.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 4+ years of professional Software Engineering or Software Development experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or C++.
• Professional experience building production-grade software applications, APIs, services, or distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, software design principles, and system design fundamentals.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, backend services, or comparable application architectures.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience using Git and modern source-control workflows.
• Understanding of automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, or containerized environments is advantageous.
• Knowledge of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding principles.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production applications and distributed systems.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.

Working Conditions

• Remote position within the United States.

• Collaboration across multiple U.S. time zones may be required.
• Occasional participation in production support, major releases, or critical technical investigations may be necessary.
