About The Role

NuAxis Innovations is seeking a talented and motivated IT Web Developer for a full-time position within our federal team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting and enhancing a portfolio of public-facing and internal web applications. These applications are built on ASP.NET / .NET 8, utilizing IBM DB2 as the backend database, alongside Drupal-based websites. The role involves delivering maintenance and modernization efforts through agile two-week sprints, ensuring the applications remain secure, efficient, and aligned with federal standards. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, troubleshoot issues, and support system integrations with enterprise services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful government solutions while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in web application development, with at least three years specifically working with ASP.NET, C#, and .NET Core (preferably .NET 6/8). Strong proficiency in Entity Framework, MVC/Razor Pages, and responsive front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap is essential. Candidates should have solid relational database skills, with direct experience in IBM DB2 highly preferred; however, experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL is acceptable, provided there is willingness to cross-train. Familiarity with REST API design and integration, JSON payload handling, and error/retry patterns is required. Front-end development skills should include HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and familiarity with modern SPA frameworks like AngularJS or similar. Experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab), and adherence to Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards are also necessary. Candidates should demonstrate experience working within Agile/Scrum environments and be comfortable troubleshooting production issues under defined SLAs. Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools, secure coding practices, and enterprise integration protocols will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Web Developer will be responsible for developing, debugging, and maintaining ASP.NET / .NET 8 Core MVC and Razor applications, ensuring high-quality, secure, and responsive user interfaces. They will write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures against IBM DB2, supporting schema changes, performance tuning, and data integrity. The role involves building and consuming REST APIs for seamless integration with enterprise case management, document management, and identity services. Implementing and maintaining single sign-on and federated identity solutions such as Login.gov, SAML, or OIDC is a key aspect of the position. The developer will remediate security findings from various scans and vulnerability reports within specified timelines to maintain compliance. Ensuring all UI components meet accessibility standards and are responsive across devices is critical. The role includes participating in CI/CD pipeline execution, code reviews, unit testing, and controlled deployment through development, staging, and production environments. Providing Tier 2/3 support, root cause analysis, and post-release validation is essential. The developer will contribute to modernization efforts by enabling APIs for legacy functions, supporting data migration, and documenting decommissioning processes. Additionally, they will support DOL release management activities by producing necessary documentation, test evidence, and deployment artifacts. Maintaining code repositories, configuration files, database scripts, and supporting incident/change records in ServiceNow are also part of the responsibilities. The role requires coordination with enterprise services such as Appian, SharePoint, Kafka, and others, ensuring smooth integrations and system interoperability.
