We are looking for an experienced Web Developer to join our client's team, with strong expertise in WordPress development and modern web technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing and maintaining WordPress websites, custom themes, plugins, and integrations, along with a good understanding of frontend development, website performance, and security.

This role offers the opportunity to work on content-driven and marketing platforms, build engaging and high-performing web experiences, and leverage AI-assisted tools to improve development efficiency while working directly with an international client.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customise, and maintain WordPress websites, including themes, plugins, and integrations.
• Build responsive, user-friendly web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs to support website functionality and business requirements.
• Optimise website performance, technical SEO, accessibility, and overall user experience.
• Troubleshoot website issues, debug code, and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain website security and follow WordPress security best practices.
• Use Git and modern deployment workflows to manage code changes and releases.
• Leverage Generative AI tools for coding, debugging, testing, and technical documentation while ensuring code quality, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective web solutions.

Key Requirements

• 2–4+ years of relevant commercial experience in web development.
• Strong hands-on experience with WordPress, including custom themes, plugins, and integrations.
• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Experience with React, Next.js, or another modern frontend framework is an advantage.
• Experience with WooCommerce or other CMS and e-commerce platforms is an advantage.
• Understanding of website performance optimisation, technical SEO, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Familiarity with Git and modern deployment workflows.
• Good understanding of web security and common WordPress security practices.
• Practical experience using Generative AI tools for coding, content implementation, debugging, testing, and technical documentation.
• Ability to review AI-generated code and identify potential security, performance, and maintainability issues.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
