Staff Software Engineer – DTC Telehealth

Remote | $200K - $225K Base + Equity

UpRecruit is partnering with a profitable, high-growth direct-to-consumer healthcare company to hire multiple Staff Software Engineers as they continue scaling their technology organization.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who has built and scaled consumer-facing products within DTC telemedicine, digital health, or a closely related subscription healthcare environment. You’ll work across the patient experience and underlying platform, with a particular focus on improving growth, conversion, engagement, and retention.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and scale customer-facing products supporting the full patient journey, including enrollment, medical intake, prescribing, checkout, recurring billing, and subscription management
  • Partner closely with product and growth teams to improve conversion, retention, and the overall consumer experience
  • Own complex technical initiatives from architecture through production
  • Improve scalability, reliability, observability, and maintainability across an existing high-volume platform
  • Build integrations with third-party healthcare, pharmacy, payment, subscription, and operational systems
  • Help modernize internal tooling and reduce manual operational workflows
  • Establish strong engineering standards around architecture, testing, deployment, security, and code quality
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor while remaining deeply hands-on

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience with significant experience operating at the Senior or Staff level
  • Direct experience in DTC telemedicine, digital health, or consumer healthcare
  • Strong experience building products focused on growth, conversion, retention, and subscription lifecycle
  • Proven ability to work within and improve an existing production codebase rather than only building greenfield products
  • Strong full-stack engineering and systems architecture skills
  • Experience with high-volume consumer applications and recurring revenue/subscription business models
  • Comfort integrating with third-party platforms and systems you don’t control
  • Experience working with healthcare data, HIPAA/PHI, or other regulated environments
  • Ability to operate with significant ownership in a fast-moving environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with pharmacy, prescription, fulfillment, or e-prescribing workflows
  • Subscription commerce and payments experience
  • Experience building internal operational tooling
  • Experience working at a profitable, high-growth startup or scale-up

Compensation & Logistics

  • Base Salary: $200K - $225K
  • Location: Fully Remote
