Job Overview
The Intermediate Full-Stack Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting software solutions, with a particular focus on Alimentiv’s Imaging products.
Working across the full software development lifecycle, this role combines front-end and back-end development with application support, technical documentation and continuous improvement. The developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate requirements and design specifications into reliable, scalable and maintainable software solutions.
This role offers the opportunity to take greater ownership of solution design and implementation, contribute to technical decision-making, mentor junior colleagues and support the continued development and performance of applications within a regulated clinical research environment.
Key Responsabilities
Design, develop and implement full-stack software solutions using Angular and TypeScript on the front end and Node.js and/or Python with AWS services on the back end.
Translate technical and functional design specifications into robust, maintainable and scalable software, contributing throughout the software development lifecycle.
Develop and support cloud-based solutions using AWS services, including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito and API Gateway.
Identify opportunities to optimise and refactor existing code to improve application performance, scalability, maintainability and reliability.
Conduct detailed code reviews, promote development best practices and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
Participate in rotational application support, troubleshooting complex application and user issues and helping ensure effective and timely resolution.
Analyse recurring application and support issues to identify root causes, preventative measures and opportunities for process or system improvement.
Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of development, deployment and support processes, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker and Git-based workflows.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical, validation and support documentation, including standard operating procedures, and review validation documentation as required.
Participate in technical learning and knowledge-sharing activities, supporting the continued development of technical capabilities across the software development team.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, combined with approximately 2–4 years of professional full-stack software development experience.
Strong hands-on development experience with Angular and TypeScript for front-end application development.
Experience developing back-end applications and services using Node.js and/or Python.
Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito and API Gateway.
Practical experience with modern software development and deployment practices, including CI/CD, Docker and Git.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle principles, clean coding practices, code review, testing, troubleshooting and application performance optimisation.
Ability to translate technical and functional requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions and contribute effectively to solution design.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex application issues and identify appropriate solutions.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and cross-functional teams and contribute to the development of junior colleagues.
Experience with Cornerstone3D or a comparable web-based DICOM viewer library, DICOM imaging standards and/or software delivery within a validated or regulated environment is considered an asset.
