# Front-End Web Developer

## About the Role

Ayr Wellness is seeking a **Front-End Web Developer** to design, build, and maintain user-facing web applications that deliver high-quality experiences across devices and browsers. Reporting to the Senior Director Business Applications, this role will focus on building high-performance, scalable web applications using **Next.js** while collaborating with marketing, designers, product managers, and back-end developers.

The role combines modern front-end development, responsive design, performance optimization, SEO, accessibility, security, and cross-browser compatibility to support Ayr Wellness's digital presence and internal platforms.

## Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern front-end technologies.

* Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, functional, and accessible code.

* Design, develop, and manage scalable web applications using the **Next.js** framework.

* Implement and optimize web performance, SEO, and security features for Next.js applications.

* Collaborate with designers, product managers, marketing teams, and back-end developers to deliver seamless user experiences.

* Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability.

* Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness across supported environments.

* Troubleshoot and debug issues across multiple environments and devices.

* Maintain code quality through development best practices, peer review, testing, and documentation.

* Stay current with emerging front-end technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

## Required Qualifications

* **5+ years of professional experience in front-end web development** or a similar position.

* Strong proficiency in:

* HTML5

* CSS3

* JavaScript (ES6+)

* Experience with modern front-end frameworks, including one or more of:

* React

* Angular

* Next.js

* Vue.js

* Strong understanding of:

* Server-Side Rendering (SSR)

* Static Site Generation (SSG)

* SEO best practices for web applications

* Familiarity with **Git** and version control systems.

* Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.

* Strong problem-solving, debugging, and attention-to-detail skills.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

* Effective communication skills.

* Demonstrated portfolio of responsive, production-quality web applications.

* Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer visa sponsorship.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.

* Equivalent combination of education and professional experience is accepted.

* Experience with **TypeScript**.

* Familiarity with **RESTful APIs** and integrating front-end applications with back-end services.

* Knowledge of modern build tools such as **Webpack or Vite**.

* Experience with front-end testing frameworks such as **Jest or Cypress**.

* Understanding of web accessibility standards, including **WCAG**.
