# Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack

## About the Role

Bluesky is seeking a **Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack** to build and maintain moderation applications used by internal teams responsible for keeping millions of users safe. You will work closely with internal operations and product teams to develop moderation and user-safety tools that support Bluesky's growing social networking ecosystem.

This role is well suited for a full-stack engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals and extensive experience building large-scale **TypeScript and React** applications. You will contribute to a mature production application, collaborate with product teams on moderation tooling, and use feedback from moderators to continuously improve their workflows and tools.

## Key Responsibilities

* Implement features within a large-scale, mature **React application** used internally for moderation and labeling.

* Collaborate with the product team to execute moderation tooling initiatives.

* Gather feedback from moderators and translate it into improvements to their toolkit.

* Build and maintain applications across both **frontend and backend** systems.

* Contribute to production software development and ongoing application improvements.

* Work collaboratively with internal operations and product stakeholders to support moderation and user-safety needs.

## Required Qualifications

### Technical Skills & Experience

* Strong fundamental **programming and software engineering skills**.

* Extensive experience building large-scale applications using **TypeScript and React**, such as **5+ years**.

* Experience building and maintaining React applications with relatively large production codebases.

* Experience working across the **full stack**, including frontend and backend development.

* Strong sense of **UI/UX excellence**.

* Strong intuitive understanding of **social media**.

* Comfortable working on **small, fast-moving teams**.

* Interest in helping shape the future of social networking.

* Ability to collaborate closely with product and internal operations teams.

* Proximity to **Seattle**.

* Willingness to travel to Seattle.

* **Time Zone:** Working-hours overlap with **PST is required**.

* **Seattle:** Proximity to and willingness to travel to Seattle are a plus.

## Compensation & Benefits

* **Base Salary:** $170,000 – $270,000 annually, excluding equity.

* Equity will be considered as part of the total compensation package.
