About The Role

NuAxis Innovations is seeking a talented and motivated IT Web Developer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing a portfolio of public-facing and internal web applications primarily built on ASP.NET / .NET 8, with an IBM DB2 backend, alongside Drupal-based websites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance within agile two-week sprint cycles while actively contributing to the incremental modernization of our web solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical government systems, ensuring they are secure, accessible, and aligned with federal standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative features, optimize performance, and support the seamless integration of enterprise services. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant, and user-friendly web applications.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in web application development, with at least three years specializing in ASP.NET, C#, and .NET Core (.NET 6/8 preferred). A strong background in relational database management, particularly with IBM DB2, is essential, though experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL is also acceptable with willingness to cross-train. Proficiency in designing and consuming REST APIs, handling JSON payloads, and implementing error/retry patterns is required. Front-end skills should include HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and familiarity with AngularJS or modern SPA frameworks. Experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab), and secure development practices aligned with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA standards is necessary. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered. Additionally, familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, federal security standards, and experience supporting government systems with formal ATO and configuration management processes are advantageous.

Responsibilities

Develop, debug, and maintain ASP.NET / .NET 8 Core MVC and Razor applications, ensuring functionality aligns with client requirements and security standards. Write, optimize, and support complex SQL queries and stored procedures against IBM DB2, including schema modifications, performance tuning, and data integrity assurance. Build and consume REST APIs that integrate with enterprise systems such as case management, document management, and identity services. Implement and maintain single sign-on and federated identity solutions, including Login.gov, SAML, and OIDC protocols. Address and remediate security vulnerabilities identified through STIGs, SRRs, SCA scans, and other vulnerability assessments within designated timelines. Ensure all user interfaces are compliant with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA standards, providing accessible and responsive designs suitable for mobile and desktop environments. Participate actively in CI/CD processes, including code reviews, unit testing, and managing deployments across development, staging, and production environments using GitLab. Provide Tier 2/3 support for production systems, conducting root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions. Contribute to modernization initiatives by enabling API functionalities for legacy systems, supporting data migration efforts, and documenting decommissioning processes. Support release management activities by producing comprehensive documentation, including unit tests, security assessments, performance reports, and deployment artifacts. Maintain code repositories, configuration files, database scripts, and deployment artifacts within DOL-controlled Git repositories, supporting incident and change management processes via ServiceNow. Collaborate with teams managing integrations with platforms such as Appian, WISE, PWRS, SharePoint, Kafka, and other enterprise services to ensure seamless interoperability and data flow.
