Job Description

MERN Stack: Practical experience with MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.

Backend Fundamentals: Good understanding of API design, authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, and secure backend development.

Database Skills: Good understanding of relational/non-relational data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and identifying performance bottlenecks.

Multi-Tenancy & Data Isolation: Ability to design and implement proper tenant-level data isolation and access control.

Performance & Scalability: Ability to identify and address common backend performance and scalability issues.

Security: Practical understanding of common application security risks, especially authentication, authorization, access control, and data exposure.

Frontend: Practical React experience, including state management, API integration, component design, and basic performance considerations.

Technical Decision-Making: Ability to evaluate technical alternatives, understand their trade-offs, and make appropriate implementation decisions based on business requirements.

AI-Assisted Development: Comfortable working with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, reviewing their output, identifying incorrect or risky implementations, and guiding them toward the appropriate solution.

Code Review & Debugging: Ability to understand existing code, identify defects, reason about their root causes, and implement or validate fixes.

Software Engineering Fundamentals: Solid understanding of clean code, modular design, Git, testing, and basic software architecture principles.

Job Requirements

Expected Level

The candidate does not need to be a senior software architect. However, they should have sufficient practical experience and technical fundamentals to independently make sound engineering decisions—particularly around backend security, authorization, data isolation, databases, and performance—while using AI agents to accelerate implementation.
