About the Role

The Software Engineer will work across the full technology stack, including a TypeScript and Node.js backend, PostgreSQL data layer, cloud deployment, and React-based web application. This is a remote-first position where engineers take features from database design through backend development and user interface implementation to production.

The role offers significant autonomy and responsibility. You'll make technical decisions, write your own tests, and help maintain the quality and security of a product where both are central to the business. Candidates are evaluated on their ability to build and deliver working software rather than on formal credentials or years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and ship full-stack features using TypeScript across the API, database, and web application.

•Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL schemas and the data layer that supports the product.

•Create clean, responsive, and efficient user interfaces using React.

•Deploy applications to a modern cloud environment and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines.

•Write automated tests to support fast development while protecting product quality and reliability.

•Take ownership of features from initial implementation through production deployment.

•Contribute to product decisions and help establish engineering practices as an early member of the team.

•Consider security risks throughout development and build software with a focus on safety and reliability.

Required Qualifications

•Demonstrable ability to build and deliver software, supported by a portfolio, GitHub projects, shipped side projects, open-source contributions, CTF experience, or other evidence of practical work.

•Strong working knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js, along with solid software engineering fundamentals.

•Experience working with REST APIs, relational databases, PostgreSQL, SQL, and data modeling.

•Front-end development skills with React; familiarity with Next.js is preferred.

•A security-conscious approach to software development, including the ability to identify potential risks and test for them.

•Ability to work independently, make technical decisions, and take responsibility for delivering features without relying on a closely managed backlog.

•No specific degree or minimum years of professional experience are required. Practical skills and demonstrated ability to build are the priority.

Preferred Qualifications

•Interest in or experience with AI and large language model (LLM) applications.

•Background in cybersecurity or application security.

•Experience with cloud platforms, serverless technologies, or CI/CD pipelines.

•A track record of shipping a project end to end, with work that can be demonstrated.

Salary & Benefits

•Base salary of $80,000 to $120,000, depending on skills.

•Meaningful equity as part of the compensation package.
