About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Trane Technologies. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, designing, and implementing micro-services and tools that enhance our Large Language Model (ARIA) capabilities. You will collaborate closely with development managers, AI research teams, and other stakeholders to create innovative software solutions that support our cutting-edge climate technology initiatives. Your expertise will contribute to upgrading existing systems, designing new applications, and ensuring the deployment of high-quality, efficient, and scalable software components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that drive sustainability and technological advancement, all within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field, complemented by at least five years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Python programming and extensive knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming are essential. Experience with unit testing frameworks such as pytest, and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK, are required. Candidates should have hands-on experience debugging micro-services within AWS infrastructure, including CloudWatch and Roles, and a solid understanding of Linux systems and automation. Knowledge of LLM architecture, AWS managed services such as Lambdas, Queues, API Gateway, and version control systems like Git is crucial. Strong communication skills, an innovative mindset, and the ability to work effectively across teams are vital for success. Nice-to-have skills include experience with FastAPI framework and machine learning research or development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and implement micro-services and tools to extend the capabilities of our Large Language Model (ARIA).
  • Collaborate with development managers and AI research teams to discuss project requirements and technical solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for system upgrades and new software initiatives.
  • Update and enhance existing software systems to improve functionality, performance, and scalability.
  • Design and develop new software programs, websites, and applications aligned with business needs.
  • Write advanced programming code, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Perform code reviews to maintain high-quality code and promote best development practices.
  • Manage project timelines, tasks, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation for new and existing software solutions.
  • Participate in daily SCRUM meetings, providing updates and collaborating with team members.
  • Gather feedback from AI research teams and integrate latest methodologies into software solutions.
  • Document development processes, share insights, and maintain organized records for knowledge sharing.
  • Assist in supervising the deployment of software components and services developed by the team.
  • Develop, upgrade, and maintain existing services and codebases to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Respond promptly to troubleshooting and maintenance tickets, resolving issues efficiently.
