About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic eCommerce and Loyalty technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing the digital experience for our customers, ensuring seamless integration and high-performance solutions. Working independently or with limited supervision, you will translate complex business requirements into innovative technical designs, propose alternative solutions, and code robust applications. Your expertise will help shape the future of our online platforms, contributing to the development of scalable, reliable, and efficient APIs and services that support our eCommerce and loyalty initiatives. You will also mentor junior engineers, lead small development projects, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions that align with business objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in software development within an IT environment, with a proven track record in designing and developing RESTful APIs using .NET Framework or .NET Core and C#. You should have at least 3 years of experience supporting eCommerce applications and working with relational databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, or Postgres. Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra, along with cloud deployment on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, is highly desirable. A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required, or equivalent work experience. Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ will be advantageous. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, debugging, and maintaining software applications supporting our eCommerce and Loyalty platforms, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and performant code (approximately 65% of your time).
  • Designing changes to existing applications and developing new features based on business needs (around 10%).
  • Creating and executing comprehensive unit and system-level test plans, thoroughly documenting testing procedures to ensure software reliability (about 15%).
  • Providing ongoing support for production applications, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions in a 24/7 environment (approximately 5%).
  • Participating actively in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives (roughly 5%).
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including frontend and backend developers, to ensure seamless API integration and overall system coherence.
  • Mentoring junior team members, conducting code reviews, and assisting in scope estimation and project planning.
  • Monitoring API performance metrics, analyzing system logs, and implementing improvements to optimize application performance.
  • Maintaining comprehensive API documentation for developers and consumers to facilitate ease of use and integration.
  • Employing best practices such as test-driven development and reusable software components to accelerate delivery and enhance code quality.
  • Staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development practices and solutions.
