About The Role

NuAxis Innovations is seeking a talented and motivated IT Web Developer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the core sustainment and enhancement of a diverse portfolio of web applications that serve both public-facing and internal needs. These applications primarily run on ASP.NET / .NET 8 with an IBM DB2 backend, alongside Drupal-based websites. Your expertise will contribute to delivering timely corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance within agile two-week sprint cycles. Additionally, you will play a vital role in supporting the incremental modernization of our web portfolio by enabling API integrations, supporting data migrations, and assisting in decommissioning legacy systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical government applications, ensuring they are secure, accessible, and high-performing while contributing to the modernization efforts that keep our solutions at the forefront of technology.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in web application development, with at least three years dedicated to ASP.NET, C#, and .NET Core (preferably .NET 6/8). A strong understanding of Entity Framework, MVC/Razor Pages, and responsive front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap is essential. Candidates must have robust relational database skills, with direct experience working with IBM DB2 highly preferred; however, familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL is acceptable with a willingness to cross-train. Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, handling JSON payloads, and implementing error/retry mechanisms is required. Front-end proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, along with familiarity with AngularJS or modern SPA frameworks, is necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab CI), and agile delivery practices such as Scrum. Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA standards for accessible development, as well as experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues, is vital. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work within a governed enterprise environment, utilizing AI-assisted development tools securely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, and maintain ASP.NET / .NET 8 Core MVC and Razor applications, ensuring high-quality, responsive user interfaces using Bootstrap or similar frameworks.
• Write optimized SQL queries and stored procedures against IBM DB2, supporting schema modifications, performance tuning, and data integrity measures.
• Design and build REST APIs, integrating with enterprise systems such as case management, document management, and identity services.
• Implement and support single sign-on and federated identity mechanisms, including Login.gov, SAML/OIDC, and enterprise SSO solutions.
• Remediate security vulnerabilities identified through STIGs, SRRs, SCA scans, and other vulnerability assessments within specified timelines.
• Ensure all UI components meet accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA) and are responsive for mobile and desktop environments.
• Participate actively in CI/CD pipelines, including code reviews, unit testing, and controlled deployment across development, staging, and production environments.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for production systems, conducting root cause analysis and validating post-release fixes.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives by enabling legacy API functions, supporting data migration efforts, and documenting system decommissioning processes.
• Assist in release management by generating necessary documentation such as unit tests, security and performance reports, deployment notes, and compliance evidence.
• Maintain code repositories, configuration files, database scripts, and deployment artifacts in Git repositories managed by DOL, supporting incident and change management records in ServiceNow.
• Coordinate with enterprise services such as Appian, WISE, PWRS, SharePoint, Kafka, and others to facilitate integrations and data flows.
