About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Java / Python Developer to help design, develop, build and maintain Java applications. You will bring strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot and microservices, alongside the ability to contribute to system design and development across a range of technologies. The role calls for sound technical judgement, a commitment to high-quality engineering and confidence working both independently and as part of a global team.
You will contribute to software delivery throughout the development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and designing solutions to writing, testing and supporting production-ready code. You will also have the opportunity to explore AI agents and automation tools to improve software development, validation and deployment practices.
Qualifications
Candidates should generally have at least six years of relevant professional experience, with six or more years of hands-on development experience across Java, Angular, Spring, TypeScript and Python. You should have a strong understanding of object-oriented design and development, data structures, algorithms and commonly used design patterns.
You will bring excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, along with experience in relational database logical modelling and writing optimised queries against large relational databases. Practical experience incorporating unit tests into system design, including use of JUnit, is important. Familiarity with microservices, Spring Boot, system design and AI-enabled development or automation tools is also valued.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. You should be able to communicate clearly and concisely with colleagues across a global team, collaborate effectively and work independently while following established coding standards.
Responsibilities
Design, build, develop and maintain Java applications, contributing to robust and scalable solutions. Apply Spring Boot and microservices principles when developing and evolving systems. Participate in system design and translate requirements into well-structured technical solutions. Develop and maintain application features using relevant technologies, including Java, Python, Angular and TypeScript.
Model relational data and write efficient queries for large databases. Create and maintain unit tests, including JUnit test cases, as part of a consistent quality-focused development approach. Follow coding standards, review technical approaches and support reliable delivery through development, validation and production deployment. Explore appropriate uses of AI agents and automation to support engineering workflows. Communicate progress, raise issues clearly and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to solve problems.
