FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER (Must be based in NI) (Python/React)
If you want to be close to the product, involved in what gets built and why, and not just working through a backlog someone else owns, this is worth reading.
An early-stage AI software company based in Northern Ireland, working with organisations to build custom AI solutions.
The role
This is a full-stack engineering role at a small, founder-led AI company. The team builds both bespoke AI solutions for clients, so the work is varied and the ownership is genuine. You will be one of a small number of engineers, which means your decisions carry weight from day one.
Why it's worth a look
Most full-stack roles at this level sit inside a delivery function where the requirements land pre-formed and the engineer builds to a brief. This one is different. The company is building its own products alongside client work, so you will be involved in shaping what gets built, not just how. The team is small and the stage is early, which means the right person will have more influence here in the next two years than they would in a decade at a larger firm. Remote working across Northern Ireland.
What you'll be doing
- Build features across the full stack for both client-facing AI solutions and the company's own software products
- Work closely with the founding team and clients to understand problems and turn them into working software
- Contribute to technical decisions in a small team where engineering input shapes the product direction
- Use AI tools as a practical part of your daily workflow, for development, research and problem-solving
What they're looking for
Must have:
- Solid commercial experience as a full-stack engineer, comfortable across both front-end and back-end.
- Ability to take a feature from requirements through to deployed, tested code without close supervision
- Practical experience working with or building AI-integrated software, not just awareness of the space
- Clear written and verbal communication, you will be working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
