About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join Lockheed Martin's Enterprise Sustainment Solutions Business area. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining software solutions that support advanced training systems for the next generation of Command and Control
infrastructure. Your work will directly contribute to the development of critical systems used in high-profile projects such as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, ensuring mission readiness and operational excellence. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex engineering problems, apply cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate with a talented team dedicated to innovation and excellence. You will be responsible for translating high-level requirements into detailed software specifications, designing, coding,
testing, and debugging software, and supporting the full software development lifecycle in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related discipline with experience in the software development lifecycle. Proficiency in
programming languages such as
Python,
SQL, and Oracle databases is required, along with experience working with version control and CI/CD tools like GitLab or similar platforms. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Windows and
Linux operating systems and be capable of providing software Basis of Estimates (BOEs) to support engineering proposals. Desired skills include the ability to learn and implement new tools and languages rapidly, experience integrating new technologies into existing programs, and familiarity with live/virtual/constructive simulation environments. A
security clearance at the Secret level is mandatory, and candidates must be U.S. citizens to be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform as a Software Engineer within the Enterprise Sustainment Solutions Business area, contributing to the development of complex software systems.
- Create innovative design solutions for engineering problems throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Enhance existing product designs to incorporate new functionalities based on operational scenarios and customer requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute software development activities, ensuring adherence to established standards, processes, and procedures.
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug software solutions that address business and mission-critical problems using logical and mathematical methods.
- Translate high-level customer requirements into detailed software specifications and design documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new tools and technologies to improve software process efficiency.
- Support the creation of Software Basis of Estimates (BOEs) to assist in engineering proposals and project planning.
- Participate actively in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
