2. About the Opportunity:

The Engineer will play a key role in developing and delivering software that simplifies educators’ workflows and positively impacts student success. This position emphasizes rapid, high-quality code delivery using AI-enhanced development practices and collaboration across teams. The role contributes to the organization''s mission by building scalable, secure features and shaping the technical direction to support ongoing growth and system evolution.

3. Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver clear, simple code that supports educators and improves student outcomes.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineers to build features efficiently.
• Integrate and promote AI tools and workflows to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure systems suitable for educational environments.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to evolving system architecture and technical culture.

4. Requirements:

• Professional experience with backend and frontend technologies including Ruby, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or PHP.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL beyond basic ORM use.
• Experience with distributed systems and monolithic architecture evolution.
• Familiarity with AWS services including Aurora, RDS, and SQS for deployment and monitoring.
• Proficiency in building and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The salary range for this role will be $135,000 to $185,000 depending on experience.
