Full Stack Engineer
Mid–Senior Level | Manchester | Hybrid – 3 Days On-Site
We’re partnering with an ambitious, product-led Manchester technology start-up that has achieved product-market fit and is entering an exciting new phase of growth.
Its technology connects consumers with service providers, creating a simpler and more intuitive experience for both sides of the marketplace.
The business is now looking for a hands-on Full Stack Engineer who can work confidently across the front and back end, take ownership of features and turn ideas into well-built customer-facing products.
You’ll work closely with the Founding Engineer and company founders, taking features from initial idea and exploration through to build, launch and iteration.
As an early, senior-leaning member of the engineering team, you’ll have genuine influence over technical decisions, engineering standards and how the product evolves as the business scales.
Key responsibilities
- Build clean, maintainable and well-tested software using React, Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Own features across the full development lifecycle, from idea through to launch
- Improve the product using customer feedback, user behaviour and performance data
- Manage integrations with payment providers, app stores, calendars and email platforms
- Oversee infrastructure and contribute to CI/CD pipelines
- Make pragmatic decisions around architecture, technical debt and build versus buy
- Maintain strong standards around security and data protection
- Participate in lightweight sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives
- Collaborate closely with founders, designers, customers and other stakeholders
Skills and experience
- Approximately 3–5+ years of commercial full stack engineering experience
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, React and Node.js skills
- A genuine mix of front-end and back-end development experience
- Experience working within a start-up or similarly fast-moving environment
- A track record of independently delivering features from concept through to launch
- A product-focused mindset and an understanding of how technology can solve customer problems
- A good eye for design and user experience
- Strong consideration for maintainability, scalability and security
- The confidence to make pragmatic technical decisions without heavy oversight
Experience building consumer-facing products would be particularly valuable.
Experience with Stripe, Expo, mobile development, ticketing platforms or e-commerce products would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
Why Apply
- Join a growing technology business at a pivotal stage
- Take genuine ownership of customer-facing technology
- Work directly with the founders and Founding Engineer
- Help shape engineering standards, architecture and ways of working
- Influence the development of a product with an established and growing user base
- Share options available for the right candidate
- Hybrid working from a central Manchester office
- All necessary equipment provided
If you’re a product-minded Full Stack Engineer who enjoys moving quickly, solving genuine customer problems and owning work from idea through to launch, we’d like to hear from you.
