A high-performance technology-driven firm is seeking a talented engineer to help build the next generation of web-based trading tools. This role sits at the intersection of trading, engineering, and data, delivering real-time systems used directly by traders and operational teams.
You will collaborate closely with end users and developers to design and implement intuitive, high-performance applications for trading, visualisation, analytics, and reporting. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on usability, scalability, and low-latency data handling.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop modern web-based trading applications and user interfaces
- Work directly with traders, operations, and engineering teams to gather requirements and iterate on solutions
- Build real-time data-driven systems for trading, monitoring, and analytics
- Develop scalable back-end services and APIs to support front-end functionality
- Contribute to architecture decisions and improve overall system performance and usability
Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript
- Experience with modern frameworks such as React and Node.js
- Understanding of API design and real-time communication (REST, WebSockets)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git preferred)
- Experience with relational or time-series databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, or kdb+)
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Java and/or Python
- Exposure to trading systems or financial markets
- Interest in building user-centric, high-performance interfaces
