About The Role
We are seeking a full-time, fully remote Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at AxisCare. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a market-leading SaaS platform tailored for home care agencies, built on a
PHP web stack with a
React/
TypeScript frontend. As a mid-level engineer, you will be instrumental in developing meaningful features that directly impact the operations of our clients, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and adaptable software solutions. You will work closely with senior and staff engineers, receiving mentorship and guidance while also contributing your expertise. This position emphasizes leveraging artificial intelligence as a core tool in the software development lifecycle, pushing technological boundaries, and exploring innovative workflows. You will play a vital role in shaping the future of our platform, ensuring it remains robust, scalable, and aligned with customer needs in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience developing web applications with the full PHP stack, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience building React applications using TypeScript
- Working knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
- Proficiency with relational databases such as MySQL or similar
- Comfortable using Git and collaborating within a team environment
- Demonstrated substantive use of AI coding tools in real projects, with concrete examples of workflows and learnings
- Strong understanding of software development as a collaborative effort
- Humble, eager-to-learn attitude with a mindset focused on continuous improvement
- Based in the US (Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones) and authorized to work in the US or Canada
Responsibilities
- Develop and ship well-scoped features for our SaaS platform, with oversight and mentorship from senior and staff engineers
- Integrate AI tools into the development process for prototyping, testing, refactoring, and shipping features
- Push the boundaries of AI-assisted development, identifying limitations and documenting lessons learned
- Engage deeply with customer problems to understand what needs to be built and why it matters
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and easily adaptable code that supports rapid iteration
- Manage your time effectively to ensure timely delivery of features and updates
- Share insights, lessons, and progress with the team to foster collective growth
- Communicate clearly through well-written documentation, emails, and technical discussions
