About The Role
As a
Frontend Engineer at Hawk, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the user interface of our agentic AI Investigation Agent. This product enables compliance analysts to configure AI workflows, monitor autonomous investigations, and review conclusions generated by AI agents. The
frontend is built on a modern
TypeScript monorepo architecture, comprising a core application and a set of micro
frontends designed for flexible deployment across multiple platforms. Your responsibilities will include understanding this complex codebase, ensuring its health, and delivering new features with precision—from individual components to deployment processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX designers,
backend engineers, and
data scientists, utilizing AI coding tools to streamline development and innovation.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have 3–5 years of experience building and maintaining production-grade
React applications with a strong command of
TypeScript and modern
React practices such as hooks, composition, and performance optimization. You should demonstrate a clean and scalable
frontend architecture, structuring code around features and clear boundaries, and emphasizing reusable UI components. Experience with design systems, particularly shadcn/ui, Radix, Tailwind, or Material UI, is highly desirable. Familiarity with micro
frontend architectures, Module Federation, and tools like Vite, monorepos (pnpm, Turborepo, Nx), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) is essential. Comfort working with ambiguous problems, asking the right questions, and iterating based on feedback is crucial. Additionally, practical experience with AI coding assistants and clear communication skills in English are important assets. Bonus qualifications include some familiarity with
Python,
infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CDK), and quality tooling such as Storybook or accessibility
testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement product features end-to-end in React and TypeScript, including workflow graph editors, investigation timelines, data-heavy tables, and dashboards to enhance analyst understanding of AI outputs.
- Maintain and enhance microfrontends, ensuring stable remote/host contracts and seamless integration into both the Investigation Agent and Case Manager platforms.
- Contribute to the shared design system, including shadcn/ui and Tailwind components, documented in Storybook, and consume backend APIs via OpenAPI-generated clients using TanStack Query and Router.
- Participate in building, testing, and deploying the frontend within a pnpm + Turborepo monorepo setup, leveraging GitHub Actions CI, Vitest, and Playwright for testing, and deploying to AWS with per-PR preview environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align development efforts with product goals, UX considerations, and data science inputs, utilizing AI coding tools to accelerate workflows.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
