The Role

  • Design, build, and optimise high-quality server-side applications and APIs that power complex digital experiences.
  • Develop and maintain scalable Node.js applications and microservices built with TypeScript.
  • Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs using modern, best-in-class frameworks.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines and efficient deployments across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms.
  • Lead code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the growth of junior engineers.
  • Participate in project planning and architectural discussions to guide technical decision-making.

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with at least 3 years using Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Proven experience building scalable APIs and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including serverless compute.
  • Solid understanding of authentication, authorisation, and API security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with cloud-native development patterns.
