About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Developer to join our dynamic team working on SURU Connect and SURU SignalHub platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native applications that are critical to our IoT ecosystem. You will work across the entire solution lifecycle, translating customer and business needs into scalable, secure, and reliable digital products. Using technologies such as C#, modern .NET, Blazor, and AWS, you will take technical ownership of projects, influence architecture decisions, and help shape the future of our connected water and IoT platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative solutions that have a tangible impact on water safety and resource management.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess over 5 years of professional software development experience, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based and distributed applications. Proficiency in C# and modern .NET frameworks, including ASP.NET Core, asynchronous programming, dependency injection, and production-grade development practices, is essential. Experience with Blazor and building maintainable web applications within the .NET ecosystem is required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of software architecture principles, REST APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and messaging-based integrations.
Practical experience designing and operating applications on AWS, including compute, storage, databases, messaging, security, and monitoring, is necessary. Familiarity with PostgreSQL, SQL, data modeling, and Entity Framework Core is also important. Candidates should have experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, containers, automated testing, observability, and production operations.
Effective communication skills in English and German (at least B1 level) are required, along with strong problem-solving abilities, technical ownership, and proactive collaboration with stakeholders. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with IoT platforms, telemetry ingestion, MQTT, connected devices, or industrial integrations, as well as AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Developer.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy applications for SURU Connect and SURU SignalHub, including APIs, background services, data-processing pipelines, and modern web interfaces using Blazor.
Create reliable, event-driven, and distributed solutions on AWS by leveraging managed services, messaging, databases, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Integrate IoT devices, connectivity providers, external platforms, and customer systems, selecting appropriate technologies and architectural patterns for each use case.
Collaborate closely with product teams, customers, and external partners to identify valuable use cases and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Take ownership of solutions from initial concept through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing operation, ensuring high standards of reliability, security, and performance.
Continuously improve system architecture by enhancing scalability, security, observability, and automation processes.
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing activities, utilizing AI-assisted development tools to optimize implementation, testing, and delivery workflows.
