We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer with 10+ years of experience in Progress OpenEdge application development and production support. The role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise applications using OpenEdge ABL/4GL, OpenEdge RDBMS, AppServer, and WebSpeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Progress OpenEdge applications using ABL/4GL.
• Develop and maintain solutions using OpenEdge RDBMS, AppServer, WebSpeed, and related technologies.
• Build, consume, and maintain SOAP and REST web services and API integrations.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Deliver small to medium-sized enhancements, defect fixes, and technical improvements within Agile sprints.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, estimation, sprint planning, and technical solution reviews.
• Write efficient database queries and perform database design, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, and support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, deployment scripts, and technical documentation.
• Use Azure DevOps (ADO) and/or Jira for backlog management, sprint tracking, source control, and release coordination.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers.
• Support ServiceNow processes for incident, problem, change, and release management when required.

Mandatory Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Progress OpenEdge development.
• Strong expertise in OpenEdge ABL/4GL and object-oriented development principles.
• Extensive experience with OpenEdge RDBMS, AppServer, WebSpeed, and application architecture.
• Strong experience developing and troubleshooting SOAP and REST web services and API integrations.
• Proficiency in SQL, database design, query optimization, indexing, and transaction management.
• Experience with source control, code reviews, debugging, testing, and release processes.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development and experience using ADO and/or Jira.
• Practical experience with ServiceNow for development-related incident, change, and release workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, client-facing development environment.

Secondary Skills

• Good understanding of Insurance domain.
• Progress OpenEdge version upgrades, modernization, migration, or integration projects.
• OpenEdge DBA experience, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, database monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and DevOps practices.
• Scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and application monitoring tools.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices.
• ServiceNow administration experience or relevant certification.
• Familiarity with React.
• Familiarity with PHP.

Experience and Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in Progress OpenEdge software development.
• Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise applications, integrations, enhancements, and production fixes.
• Experience working in Agile, cross-functional, and client-facing teams.
• Proven ability to take ownership of technical solutions from requirements through development, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
