## About the Role

World Pantry is seeking a Web Developer to join its Engineering Team in a temporary-to-permanent employment opportunity. The role is responsible for creating, customizing, maintaining, and optimizing Shopify-based e-commerce websites and webstore properties for World Pantry’s portfolio of food brands.

The Web Developer will work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, and other team members to deliver functional, visually effective, and user-friendly websites. The role includes website development, UI/UX improvements, A/B testing, performance optimization, troubleshooting, technical support, and implementation of emerging web technologies and trends.

## Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, customize, and maintain Shopify-based e-commerce websites and webstores.

* Optimize website performance and user experience to improve customer engagement and conversion rates.

* Work with team members to evaluate trade-offs and deliver features that meet or exceed requirements.

* Design and improve web application functionality while maintaining existing websites.

* Write high-quality, modular, and reusable code.

* Create and modify website content and imagery as needed.

* Implement and modify A/B tests to improve customer engagement and conversion rates.

* Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and display issues.

* Assist with technical support issues and resolve technical problems related to webstore operations.

* Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to maintain consistent website design and optimize user experience.

* Complete assigned projects according to functional and design requirements and required timelines.

* Apply existing and new development methods, tools, and design approaches to meet project requirements.

* Work on projects ranging from new website development over several weeks to website revisions and functional adjustments completed within hours or days.

* Investigate novel solutions in partnership with Marketing and Product Management when appropriate.

* Apply creativity within conventional e-commerce website development methodologies to modify available options and methods according to partner needs.

## Required Qualifications

* 3+ years of Shopify development experience.

* Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Liquid template language.

* In-depth knowledge of Shopify themes and Shopify app usage and customization.

* Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

* Ability to understand complex information and translate it into consumer-facing websites that meet functional and aesthetic requirements.

* Ability to work closely with Marketing and Customer Service to develop project work plans that fulfill business objectives within appropriate time frames.

* Ability to work within established website development structures, tools, and methods.

* Ability to work independently to resolve issues and meet project deadlines.

* Experience with responsive design.

* Experience with a major JavaScript framework such as React or Angular.

* Experience working with RESTful web services and APIs.

## Preferred Qualifications

* BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or commensurate experience.

* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.

* Experience investigating novel web development solutions in partnership with Marketing and Product Management.

* Experience creatively modifying available e-commerce development options and methods to meet partner needs.

## Work Arrangement & Schedule

* **Work Arrangement:** Remote working position.

* The successful candidate will work remotely from home or may work from one of World Pantry’s facilities depending on geography.

* Potential facility locations include the San Francisco Bay Area, Harrisburg, PA area, or Kansas City, MO area.

* **Employment Type:** Temporary to permanent.

* Permanent employment status will be determined after 60–90 days, with changes communicated in writing.

## Compensation & Benefits

* **Temporary employment:** $33.65–$48.08 per hour.

* **Permanent employment:** $70,000–$100,000 annual base salary.
