About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer with 3+ years of professional experience who is sharp, picks things up quickly, and gets things done to a consistent standard.
You will work within an established engineering team on an active software product, picking up context and contributing to delivery from an early stage. The work is varied, the pace is real, and the expectation is that you take clear ownership of what is assigned to you and follow through without needing to be chased.
You do not need to have worked across every technology listed. Solid practical foundations, a track record of delivering working software, and the drive to keep learning are what matter most.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain features across backend services and frontend layers of an active web product
- Work within an established engineering team and contribute to ongoing product development
- Pick up an existing codebase and delivery context quickly and contribute from an early stage
- Investigate and resolve issues across the stack, escalating where needed
- Collaborate with QA and project management roles within defined delivery workflows
- Produce clear implementation documentation and support reproducibility of delivered work
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has 3+ years of professional software development experience with a track record of delivering working software
- Has strong backend development fundamentals in a modern object-oriented language, ideally Java, or a comparable statically-typed language such as C#/.NET or Kotlin, where core concepts transfer readily
- Is comfortable working on the frontend with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; experience with a modern framework such as React, Vue, or Angular is welcome but not required
- Is comfortable working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
- Has experience designing, consuming, or integrating REST APIs
- Uses Git and modern version control workflows as standard practice
- Actively uses AI-assisted development tools and is comfortable integrating them into daily engineering workflows
- Communicates clearly, asks the right questions, and keeps stakeholders informed without needing to be prompted
- Takes ownership of assigned tasks and follows through reliably
- Adapts quickly to new environments, codebases, and technology stacks
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a regulated or quality-sensitive environment such as healthcare, life sciences, or fintech
- Exposure to clinical research platforms or eClinical software
- Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines or cloud-hosted applications
- Experience working in distributed or international delivery teams
What We Offer
This is a role where you will work on a real product with a real client from day one. You will not be in a queue waiting for work to be assigned. You will have a defined scope, direct exposure to the delivery environment, and the chance to grow quickly by doing.
- Salary: EUR 2,500 - 3,500 Gross, depending on experience
- Equipment: You will be set up with the hardware and tooling you need to do the job properly
- Direct collaboration with international clients and experienced engineering teams
- Exposure to a variety of technologies, products, and delivery environments across projects
- Flexibility outside agreed core project hours
- A chance to contribute to a growing company from an early stage, with real influence on how we work
