About The Role

As a Full-stack Developer at Nelnet, you will be instrumental in building the next-generation platform within the lending industry. This role involves collaborating with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable technology solutions. You will participate in the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native products utilizing microservices architecture and other cutting-edge technologies. Your work will directly impact millions of customers by delivering innovative solutions that enhance user experience, improve operational efficiency, and support Nelnet’s strategic growth. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of technological advancement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering enterprise-class web applications
• At least 3 years of recent experience working with ES6/7 JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar technologies
• 3 years of experience building single-page applications (SPAs) using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Ember
• Proven experience developing microservices architectures
• Experience in building, maintaining, and evolving development processes and environments (SCM, CI/CD, build tools, deployment tools)
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments, including managing development, testing, and production environments
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including unit, functional, stub, and end-to-end testing
• Practical knowledge of RESTful API design and consumption
• Proficiency with web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS, Bootstrap, and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, or GitHub
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, JavaScript core concepts, asynchronous programming, and event-driven architecture
• Strong database skills, including complex query creation and database design best practices
• Ability to architect and implement complex solutions from infrastructure to application layers
• Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a passion for quality code

• Partner closely with product and design teams to craft exceptional user experiences and solutions
• Design, develop, and evolve scalable applications and infrastructure code within an Agile framework
• Participate actively in the entire development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Implement and improve development, build, and deployment processes and environments
• Promote architectural best practices, balancing long-term scalability with immediate customer needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of cloud-native microservices
• Maintain high standards of code quality, performance, and security
