About The Role

This senior software engineering role is pivotal in supporting Lockheed Martin’s high-visibility analytic missions. The successful candidate will work closely with other senior engineers and cross-functional teams to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems that underpin critical analytics and intelligence operations. The role involves providing technical leadership in designing innovative solutions, ensuring software quality through rigorous testing processes, and contributing to agile development cycles that support mission objectives. The engineer will also be responsible for mentoring junior team members, fostering best practices, and ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure software products. Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph (FSP). A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, complexity, and nature is required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution is mandatory; however, four (4) additional years of SWE experience on comparable projects can be substituted for a formal degree. Candidates should demonstrate extensive experience in software development, testing, debugging, and deployment, with a strong understanding of Linux operating systems and programming languages such as Java. Proven expertise in agile methodologies, software quality assurance, and working within complex, regulated environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced data analytics solutions aligned with mission requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical specifications, develop system architecture, and ensure seamless integration of software components.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Participate actively in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure adherence to established software development processes, including DAT, UAT/SME validation, smoke testing, and system-level testing prior to production deployment.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant standards to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Engage in regular code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
