About The Role
We are seeking a skilled full-stack Web Developer to join Miva's Professional Services team. This client-facing role involves engaging directly with clients to understand their business needs, translating those requirements into technical solutions, and clearly communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining eCommerce storefronts utilizing Miva's server-side templating language (MVT), HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript. Additionally, the role involves integrating client stores with various external systems, including ERPs, CRMs, payment gateways, and analytics platforms, through REST, SOAP, and legacy XML-based services.
The role encompasses a wide range of activities, from large-scale development projects and ongoing maintenance to troubleshooting and discovery phases across multiple client accounts. Collaboration with project managers and cross-functional teams within Miva is essential to ensure that solutions meet scope, timeline, and quality standards. The developer will also optimize storefront performance, implement SEO best practices, enhance accessibility, and support analytics and merchandising functionalities to improve conversion rates and user experience.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional web development experience, including at least 1 year in eCommerce
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including preprocessors like Sass/LESS), and vanilla JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience with PHP in a web development context
- Experience working with SQL-based databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Proficiency with version control systems and Git workflows
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively within scope, timelines, and platform constraints in a client-facing environment
- Deep understanding of web standards, accessibility, and performance optimization
- Scope, estimate, and execute development tasks based on client requirements, signed SOWs, and predefined service offerings
- Develop, customize, and maintain eCommerce storefronts using HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript within Miva's templating and configuration layers
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Miva platform to optimize store configurations via the admin interface
- Build and support integrations between Miva stores and external systems such as ERPs, CRMs, payment providers, shipping systems, and analytics platforms using REST, SOAP, and legacy XML services
- Troubleshoot and resolve frontend, backend, and configuration issues across the platform and connected systems
- Optimize storefront performance, including Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, and cross-browser/device compatibility
- Configure and implement analytics tracking, including GA4 and GTM
- Implement merchandising features such as cross-selling, dynamic product listings, personalization, and promotional rules
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code; participate in code reviews and QA processes
- Follow deployment procedures and release schedules across multiple client environments
- Track project time, report status, and communicate blockers or scope risks proactively
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success and client satisfaction
