Veeva Systems is hiring a **Senior Software Engineer – Front End** to build and maintain the user interfaces of cloud-based applications for the life sciences industry. You’ll work in a dynamic, fast-paced engineering environment within a stable and profitable company, collaborating closely with **back-end engineers, designers, and QA teams**.

In this role, you’ll develop modern front-end experiences using **JavaScript and modern JavaScript frameworks**, solve customer-focused technical problems, contribute to architecture improvements, and participate throughout the full software development lifecycle.

## Key Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain the **UI of cloud-based applications** using modern JavaScript frameworks.

* Collaborate directly with **back-end engineers and design teams** to deliver high-quality user experiences.

* Build cloud-based applications and platforms that solve real customer problems.

* Decompose existing software systems and work with other engineers to improve overall architecture.

* Experiment with new ideas and contribute to technical solutions that improve the product.

* Collaborate with **QA engineers** to ensure accurate and comprehensive test coverage.

* Troubleshoot software issues and contribute to technical product support.

* Participate in all phases of the **software development lifecycle (SDLC)**.

* Mentor other engineers and contribute to improving team effectiveness.

## Required Qualifications

* **5+ years of UI development experience**.

* Strong proficiency with **JavaScript**.

* Experience with **ES6**.

* Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks such as **React or Vue**.

* Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as **Jest and React Testing Library**.

* Proficiency with CSS abstraction layers such as **SASS or JSS**.

* Familiarity with open-source Java stack development, including:

* **Java**

* **Gradle**

* **Git**

* **Jenkins**

* **JUnit**

* **Tomcat**

* Strong mentoring skills and a proven record of helping engineering teams improve.

## Compensation

* **Base Salary: $110,000–$270,000 USD**

* Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, qualifications, and expected contributions.

* The position may also be eligible for additional compensation such as **variable bonus and/or stock bonus**.
