About The Role
As a Tech Lead on the Money Movement team at Consensys, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of financial transactions within the web3 ecosystem. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the technical development and strategic direction of fiat-to-crypto features and infrastructure, ensuring seamless, secure, and scalable money movement experiences for users. You will guide a talented team of junior and mid-level engineers across various disciplines including backend, frontend, desktop, and mobile development. Your expertise will be instrumental in building systems that connect users to third-party payment service providers and payments infrastructure, facilitating reliable and efficient financial transactions.
Collaboration is key in this role; you will work closely with product managers, designers, data analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams to ship cross-platform features that enhance user experience. Maintaining high code quality through design discussions, code reviews, testing, and documentation will be essential to uphold the integrity and performance of our services. You will also be responsible for making critical architectural decisions that impact revenue-generating user flows, ensuring the reliability, observability, and performance of the Money Movement services. Additionally, partnering with mobile and extension platform teams to create unified, seamless money movement experiences will be part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-stack or backend engineering experience, including success in a Staff or equivalent role
- Proven track record of setting technical direction and driving impact across teams or organizations
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, React Native, and modern web technologies
- Experience leading projects across multiple workstreams, mentoring engineers, and making architectural decisions for web, iOS, and Android applications
- Background in fintech, payments, or financial services is highly preferred
- Familiarity with payment infrastructure, APIs, and third-party integrations
- Ability to analyze and address edge cases, system security, and failure modes
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially in remote teams
- Experience working within agile environments with cross-functional teams
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code with thorough testing and documentation
- Lead the technical development and strategic planning of fiat-to-crypto features and infrastructure
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers across backend, frontend, desktop, and mobile teams
- Design and build secure, scalable systems connecting users to payment service providers and infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship cross-platform features that enhance user experience
- Ensure high code quality through design reviews, testing, and documentation practices
- Maintain the reliability, observability, and performance of Money Movement services
- Make architectural decisions that influence revenue and user engagement
