Software Developer (Mid-Level)

About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Software Developer to join our engineering team. You'll contribute to the design and development of backend services, work with geospatial data, and collaborate with senior engineers to ship reliable, well-tested software. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using the Spring ecosystem
• Write and optimize PostgreSQL queries, including geospatial operations with PostGIS
• Package and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and participate in release processes
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to deliver features end-to-end

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional software development experience
• Working knowledge of Java and the Spring framework
• Experience with PostgreSQL and comfort writing complex SQL queries
• Familiarity with PostGIS or willingness to learn geospatial concepts quickly
• Hands-on experience with Docker; exposure to Kubernetes a plus
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote environment
• Experience with geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefile, WKT)

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK)
• Exposure to observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience writing unit and integration tests (JUnit, Testcontainers)
• Basic experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, or similar)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows (Git)
