In the Genospace team within Ontada, our mission is to be the leading information platform for applied precision medicine. We are an interdisciplinary team merging genomics, healthcare,
data analytics,
web development, and
cloud computing to serve research, clinical development, pathology, and clinical care customers handling high-dimensional genomic and biomedical
data. Our software platform empowers some of the most advanced organizations in precision medicine, enabling them to improve patient outcomes and accelerate research.
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer who is passionate about solving complex problems and contributing to the development of our Genospace software platform. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that directly influence healthcare and biomedical research, supporting clinicians, researchers, and laboratories worldwide. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain innovative
web-based
applications that facilitate the analysis and visualization of high-dimensional
data in a
cloud environment.
As a key member of our team, you will help shape the future of healthcare technology, ensuring our solutions are robust, scalable, and user-centric. Your contributions will directly impact patient care, scientific discovery, and the advancement of personalized medicine. This role offers a unique chance to be at the forefront of health tech innovation, working alongside experts in genomics, software engineering, and clinical research.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of relevant professional experience in software development, with a strong foundation in building
web applications or
data processing systems. A bachelor’s degree in
computer science, engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience, is required.
Proficiency in at least one common programming language, along with experience in front-end and back-end technologies, is essential. Familiarity with
web technologies such as
Vue.js,
Java, Groovy, Grails, Kafka, Micronaut, and
database systems like MongoDB and Elasticsearch will be highly advantageous. Demonstrable experience in designing software solutions that meet functional and technical requirements, as well as effective communication skills, are critical.
The ability to think creatively and critically while collaborating with product owners,
data scientists, and designers to develop innovative solutions is vital. Additional helpful qualifications include an interest in healthcare and biomedical research, familiarity with our technology stack, or experience in related fields such as genomics or biology.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy features for web-based, cloud-hosted applications, ensuring high quality and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with teammates to improve the overall quality of the software.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and platforms to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Work closely with product owners, data scientists, and UI/UX designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing applications, ensuring their stability, security, and scalability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, applying them to improve our software solutions.

Our compensation ranges from $87,600 to $146,000, aligned with industry standards and based on experience, skills, and performance.
