Mid-Level Software Engineer (Full Stack)

Base salary: $167,000–$177,000

We’re hiring a Mid-Level Software Engineer for a small, mission-driven education technology team. You’ll build features that help learners connect and grow, working closely with engineers, designers, and program leads to turn user needs into practical solutions.

This role suits an engineer who enjoys owning work from the first conversation through launch and iteration. You’ll have room to contribute product ideas, make technical decisions, and see the impact of what you build.

What you’ll do

• Own full-stack features from discovery and scoping through development, launch, and improvement.
• Work directly with non-technical teammates and users to understand problems and shape solutions.
• Build and maintain applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and Postgres.
• Write technical specifications, review code, and make thoughtful tradeoffs with the team.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for approximately one week every five to seven weeks.

What we’re looking for

• 3–6 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping features across both frontend and backend systems.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with people outside engineering.
• An interest in product decisions and the ability to make progress when requirements are still taking shape.
• Motivation to build technology that helps people learn and connect.

Experience with AWS or GCP is helpful.

Compensation and benefits

The $167,000–$177,000 salary is entirely base pay, with no bonus or equity. Compensation is set under a no-negotiation policy intended to support pay fairness. Benefits include fully remote work, unlimited PTO, a home-office stipend, a professional development budget, and health, dental, and vision coverage.

This is a U.S.-based role with meetings generally held during Pacific Time mornings. Visa sponsorship is unavailable.
