About The Role

Join Vanguard's Advice & Wealth Management Technology (AWMT) organization as an Application Engineer III. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing cloud-native applications that underpin Vanguard's advisory and wealth management capabilities. Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience, including at least one year of dedicated development experience in a professional setting.
• Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience in computer science, software engineering, or related fields.
• Proven experience in building and supporting full-stack applications within enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on development skills with Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience with modern front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
• Expertise in designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating diverse systems.
• Hands-on experience working with AWS cloud technologies, including deployment, scaling, and security best practices.
• Proficiency with source control systems, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous delivery and integration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working within Agile software development methodologies and teams.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications and services using modern software engineering practices.
• Build and support cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS technologies and microservices architecture.
• Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services, while contributing to front-end development as needed.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions to ensure best practices and high-quality deliverables.
• Implement automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to enhance software quality, reliability, and deployment speed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration, and production support issues promptly.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing engineering processes, application performance, and system reliability.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
