A confidential JKW Consulting client is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale one of the fastest-growing payments platforms in creator commerce.

About the Opportunity

The payments platform serves as an orchestration layer across multiple payment service providers, increasing merchant conversion rates while delivering reliable, scalable payment experiences.

You'll work on products that power billions in transactions while creating SDKs, class="bg-amber-100">APIs, and developer experiences that become core components for other engineering teams.

This is a highly entrepreneurial engineering environment with significant ownership, minimal bureaucracy, and the opportunity to ship meaningful work from your first weeks on the team.

What You'll Do

• Build and optimize payment experiences processing billions in annual transaction volume
• Design and develop payment features, class="bg-amber-100">APIs, and SDKs used by external developers
• Expand payment method support to improve global merchant accessibility
• Create intuitive developer documentation and interactive SDK playgrounds
• Build scalable class="bg-amber-100">backend class="bg-amber-100">infrastructure and productize internal engineering tools
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering leaders to rclass="bg-amber-100">apidly deliver customer-facing features
• Own projects from architecture through production deployment
• Continuously improve platform reliability, performance, and developer experience

What We're Looking Forclass="bg-amber-100">Technical Qualifications

We're looking for full stack engineers who are deeply skilled in either class="bg-amber-100">backend or class="bg-amber-100">frontend development—not generalists with shallow experience.

class="bg-amber-100">Backend Engineers

• Strong class="bg-amber-100">backend engineering fundamentals
• Experience designing and scaling distributed systems
• class="bg-amber-100">class="bg-amber-100">Ruby on Rails experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies

class="bg-amber-100">Frontend Engineers

• Expert knowledge of Next.js and modern class="bg-amber-100">React development
• Strong understanding of performance optimization and user experience
• Experience building reusable component libraries and SDKs

For All Candidates

• Experience building products from zero to one
• Strong architectural judgment and problem-solving ability
• Ability to evaluate and improve AI-generated code rather than relying on it blindly
• Preference for elegant, maintainable solutions over unnecessary complexity
• Experience shipping production software at scale
