About The Role
The Lead Software Engineer at Snapsheet will play a pivotal role in shaping the
technical direction and ensuring the excellence of the company's industry-leading claims engine. As a
senior technical leader, you will contribute to architecture discussions, conduct thorough code reviews, and deliver high-quality, production-ready code. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in an
agile, remote-first environment and is passionate about mentoring team members and building impactful technology solutions. You will collaborate with multiple high-impact teams, leveraging your expertise to solve complex scalability challenges and improve system performance. Your leadership will help drive innovation, maintain high engineering standards, and support the company’s strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field
- 5+ years of full-stack web development experience
- At least 2 years of experience working with relational databases
- Proficiency in front-end technologies and the ability to contribute across the full technology stack
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly
- Experience solving scalability challenges and discussing solutions in depth
- Curiosity and proactive approach to understanding systems and tools beyond surface-level frameworks
- Willingness to dive deep and develop expertise in at least one technical area
- Clear understanding of product and business context behind technical work
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision and architecture of the claims engine and related systems
- Perform thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Contribute to the development and refinement of system infrastructure, including databases and cloud services
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges related to system scalability and performance
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and incorporate innovative practices into development processes
- Ensure that technical solutions align with business goals and product requirements
