Senior Full Stack Engineer

Location: Montreal (Hybrid, min 2-days per week in the office)

Salary: 145 000$ - 165 000$

Auxo is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer for a fast-growing Canadian fintech building modern software that is transforming how lending teams operate.

You'll join a small, senior engineering team where ownership is high, bureaucracy is low, and engineers are expected to build complete features from requirements through production. This is a backend-heavy full stack role for someone who enjoys solving complex product problems, collaborating closely with Product and Design, and leveraging AI to become a better engineer.

This is not an AI Engineer or Machine Learning role. The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer who understands how to use tools like Claude, Cursor, and Copilot to accelerate development while exercising good technical judgment. Fintech experience is mandatory, as the team is looking for someone who can immediately understand the domain and operate independently with minimal onboarding.

What You'll Do

• Build backend services using Python
• Develop customer-facing features using Angular
• Own features from requirements through production
• Design REST APIs and scalable backend services
• Collaborate closely with Product to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Review AI-generated code and ensure it aligns with engineering standards and best practices
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews
• Mentor teammates and contribute to engineering best practices
• Improve software quality, reliability, and developer productivity
• Leverage AI development tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Copilot as part of your daily workflow

Who You Are

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong recent Python backend experience
• Strong full stack development experience
• Angular experience (or equivalent modern frontend experience with the ability to ramp quickly)
• Fintech experience is mandatory
• Experience building production SaaS products
• Experience designing APIs and scalable backend systems
• Comfortable working in AWS environments
• Comfortable using AI development tools such as Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar
• Strong ownership mentality with the ability to independently deliver features from start to finish
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Comfortable operating in a startup or high-growth environment
