About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join a small, fast-moving team building AI-powered Work Health and Safety (WHS) SaaS applications. You will work directly alongside our founders and collaborate closely with Claude Code as a coding partner, contributing to both greenfield features and ongoing platform evolution.

You will be a core contributor across the full stack: our Node.js/Express API and Prisma/PostgreSQL backend, through to the React 19 frontend, supporting everything from schema design and UI component development to background job processing and third-party integrations.

What You'll Work On:

• Design and maintain backend APIs for multi-tenant WHS and ISO compliance workflows.
• Own database architecture and Prisma schema evolution, including migrations and performance tuning.
• Integrate and extend AI-driven analysis pipelines powered by Anthropic Claude (Opus 4.6).
• Build and support document processing and file handling infrastructure (S3, ClamAV, presigned URLs).
• Develop and maintain background job processing with BullMQ and Redis.
• Contribute to third-party integrations: Stripe, SendGrid, AWS Lambda, and ABR web services.
• Collaborate on deployment and infrastructure via Render (Docker).
• Work within a blended team environment, pairing with Claude Code on daily development tasks.
• Build and maintain React 19 UI components, pages, and workflows for WHS and ISO compliance features.
• Implement responsive, accessible interfaces using Tailwind CSS v4 and Vite.
• Own the end-to-end experience for key user workflows, from API design through to UI delivery.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

• Strong Node.js experience (v20+) with Express or similar frameworks.
• Solid PostgreSQL skills including query optimisation, indexing, and schema design.
• Hands-on experience with Prisma ORM and managing schema migrations in production.
• Comfort working with AI-assisted development tools, particularly Claude Code.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a small team with minimal oversight.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and security best practices.
• Solid React experience (v18+ or v19) including hooks, state management, and component design.
• Comfortable with Vite build tooling and Tailwind CSS utility-first styling.

Highly Regarded:

• Familiarity with Australian WHS, ISO compliance, or regulatory SaaS domains.
• Experience with BullMQ, Redis, or similar job queue systems.
• Background in document processing pipelines (upload, virus scanning, versioning).
• Knowledge of Stripe integrations (checkout, webhooks, GST handling).
• Experience with Pino structured logging, Sentry, or similar observability tooling.
• Exposure to Docker and Render or comparable deployment platforms.

This is a high-autonomy role. You will pair closely with Claude Code on a daily basis, so comfort working in an AI-augmented development workflow is essential. The team is small, the codebase is well-structured, and the problems are genuinely interesting.
