Key requirement: Active Top secret clearance required

Our client is a profitable defense technology company building software and hardware that helps the US and its allies deter and de-escalate conflict. Their platform supports maritime vigilance, counter-misinformation and non-traditional intelligence missions across the US service branches, combatant commands, partner nations and the intelligence community.

This is a high-impact product engineering team working directly with operators in sensitive government environments. You will join a new 2-3 person team reporting to the Director of Product Engineering, focused on expanding an agentic AI platform into new missions, datasets and operating environments. This is one of the company's top priorities.

This is a blend of product engineering and forward deployment. You will spend time with users on-site, translate mission needs into product requirements, then build, ship and own the features that land in production in the field.

What they need

  • Build full-stack product features across React, Postgres, Redis and S3
  • Work directly with operators and customers, including on-site, to understand mission needs and turn them into product requirements
  • Deploy and integrate software with government IT systems, including data platforms, IdAM, SIEM and CDS
  • Own features end to end, from requirements through development, deployment and production support
  • Travel 40-50% to customer sites, primarily in Washington DC and Tampa
  • Help expand an agentic AI platform into new missions, datasets and operating environments

What we're looking for

  • 4-10 years of experience as a full-stack or product engineer
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Strong experience building production software with React and modern backend/data infrastructure
  • Experience with Postgres, Redis and S3, or comparable technologies
  • Comfortable working directly with technical and non-technical government users
  • Experience or strong interest in deploying software into regulated, secure or mission-critical environments
  • Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites
