About Us

insured.io is the complete digital front-end for insurance policyholders, integrating web, IVR, SMS, payments, and claims in a single platform designed to scale with insurance carrier needs and modern customers' expectations. For 15 years we've been delivering real value to insurance carriers and their policyholders.

Overview

insured.io is looking for a skilled developer for our policyholder portal, handling customer change requests, bug fixes, and implementation of new features.

This role requires a strong knowledge of C# (.NET 4.8 & .NET 10) and familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. This is an enterprise-level, multi-tenant, consumer-facing insurance software application, and we need a developer who can handle both the front-end and back-end of tasks.

This is a lean, fast-paced team, and you should be very comfortable working independently in that kind of environment. If you're more comfortable in the monolithic, compartmentalized structure of a large organization, this job may not be for you. We need self-starters and people eager to dive in, learn, and grow.

This is a fully remote position. U.S. applicants only.

What you'll do

  • Work on customer change requests and bug tickets for the policyholder portal. This includes replicating issues, identifying the cause, fixing issues, and verifying your fixes.
  • Implement and maintain features at the direction of the Product Team (Razor/MVC views, C#, MSSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery), ensuring responsive design, good user experience, and high performance.
  • Write SQL queries to investigate issues, and execute stored procedures to update client configurations.
  • Participate in active communication with the development, product, and QA teams clearly, early, and often to understand tasks and identify roadblocks.
  • Engage in collaboration and code reviews with the development teams.

How to be successful in this role

  • 4+ years of .NET development experience. We work with .NET 4.8 and .NET 10, so experience with both is required.
  • Solid front-end skills, working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery in combination with C#.
  • Good problem-solving instincts and attention to detail.
  • Experience with the Microsoft development stack, including Visual Studio, Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, and MSSQL.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, including writing queries and executing stored procedures.
  • Ability to understand, update, and manipulate JSON data used for client configuration.
  • Experience working with REST APIs, including consuming and integrating with Azure Functions or similar serverless services.
  • Experience working in a large, multi-tenant, multi-project codebase with a firm understanding of what shared infrastructure and tenant isolation mean.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the insurance, insurtech, or payment industries.
  • Experience with mobile app development, primarily using Capacitor Web View.
  • Experience with accessibility, including WCAG 2.1 AA.

Why you'll love working with us

  • Flexible hours and the ability to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Excellent benefits and a competitive salary.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment where your work, ideas, and creativity are valued.
  • Direct access to founders and the opportunity to grow in the SaaS and insurtech industries.
