Position Summary
Full Tilt Data, LLC is looking for a Full Stack Developer to help build and maintain web-based data collection and validation applications for a federal government program. In this role, you will develop features across the front end and back end using
Java/Spring Boot and
React, working on a cross-functional SAFe
Agile team. The applications allow external organizations to submit, validate, and certify data that support critical agency programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and enhance front-end and back-end features for multiple data collection applications, working from user stories in a SAFe Agile environment.
- Develop Java/Spring Boot services and REST APIs, including data access and transformation services that will support future interoperability interfaces such as FHIR.
- Build accessible, user-friendly interfaces in React (or Angular), including supporting a planned front-end migration from Kendo UI to React.
- Build spreadsheet import and export features (Apache POI) and data validation logic for user submissions.
- Design and maintain database schemas and migrations on Amazon RDS/Aurora (MySQL).
- Write unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Vitest) and meet code quality and security checks in SonarQube and Snyk.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code in GitHub Enterprise and deploy to containerized AWS environments (ECS/Fargate, Kubernetes).
- Ensure features meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, federal design system guidelines, and security requirements, including role-based access control.
- Participate in PI Planning, sprint ceremonies, and demos, and provide production support during peak data submission periods.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional full stack development experience.
- Strong Java skills, including Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and Maven.
- Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React (React 18, plus a state management tool such as Redux, Zustand, or TanStack Query) or Angular.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Solid relational database and SQL skills (MySQL, Aurora, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., ECS, S3, RDS, API Gateway) and containers.
- Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Candidates must be able to pass a background check equivalent to a Federal Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal government contracts.
- Experience with FHIR APIs or other data interoperability standards.
- Experience in SAFe environments; SAFe certification is a plus.
- Experience building Section 508-compliant applications using the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) or a similar federal design system.
- Familiarity with Kendo UI, WildFly, Storybook, or Node.js.
- Experience with federal identity management solutions, New Relic, or Splunk.
- Exposure to Spark, Databricks, or BI tools such as Amazon QuickSight.
The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
