Full-Stack Software Developer
Platform Maintenance & Support
Type: Full-time / Remote
ScrapIT is hiring a full-stack developer to maintain and support the web and mobile platform behind one of our software businesses serving recycling and scrap-metal operators across North America. This is a hands-on maintenance and support role. You will keep an established, feature-rich application stable, reliable, and responsive for a live customer base that depends on it every day.
The platform spans dispatch and logistics, weighing and device integrations, accounting, compliance, and reporting. You will own the day-to-day upkeep of the current system: fixing issues, making small adjustments, and keeping everything running smoothly. You will be set up with modern AI-assisted development tooling so that one capable generalist can comfortably cover the full stack.
What you'll do● Maintain and support the platform. Keep the existing web and mobile application stable across front end, back end, and mobile, resolving customer-reported issues as they arise.
● Fix and adjust. Debug problems and make small enhancements and adjustments to existing functionality without disrupting live operations.
● Triage and communicate. Prioritize incoming issues against customer impact and keep the product owner and support team clear on status and timelines.
● Keep the integrations healthy. Support the platform's operational features and integrations (dispatch, weighing and device integrations, GPS and telematics, alerting) and keep them working reliably.
● Work AI-first. Use AI-assisted development tools to work efficiently and independently across the whole stack.
What you'll need● 3+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
● Proficiency with React on the front end and C# / .NET Core on the back end.
● Located in Canada and work on North American business hours.
● Experience with React Native or comparable mobile development.
● Strong SQL Server skills: writing queries, debugging, and resolving data issues.
● Comfortable maintaining and debugging an existing, inherited codebase rather than building greenfield.
● Solid grasp of REST APIs, Git, and general web application architecture.
● Self-directed and dependable, with clear written and verbal English.
Nice to have● Familiarity with Microsoft Azure (App Services and related cloud services).
● Experience integrating hardware or IoT peripherals such as scales, printers, or GPS and telematics devices.
● Background in ERP, logistics and dispatch, waste and recycling, or another operations-heavy domain.
● Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or Codex.
