About the Role

Journey Coffee Co is seeking a Junior Web Developer for a full-time, remote position. The successful candidate will help develop, maintain, and improve the company's websites and web applications, supporting a smooth and engaging experience for customers and internal teams.

Working with designers, marketing team members, and senior developers, you will contribute to front-end development, back-end functionality, troubleshooting, and website performance improvements. This role is suited to someone with a foundational understanding of web development who is eager to learn, follow coding best practices, and contribute to practical digital projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and maintenance of company websites and web applications.

• Build and improve front-end interfaces that are responsive, accessible, and visually consistent across devices.

• Assist with back-end development, including server-side logic, data handling, and API integrations.

• Troubleshoot technical issues, debug code, and help maintain reliable website functionality.

• Contribute to website performance optimization and ongoing improvements to the user experience.

• Collaborate with designers, marketing team members, and senior developers to translate business requirements into functional web features.

• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and development best practices.

• Maintain technical documentation to support consistent, understandable, and maintainable code.

• Assist with deployment, maintenance, and other development tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Familiarity with at least one back-end programming language or framework, such as Node.js, Python, or PHP.

• Understanding of front-end development principles and responsive web design.

• Foundational knowledge of back-end web development, programming, and API integration.

• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and collaborative development workflows.

• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to development tasks across the web stack.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team.

• Willingness to learn quickly, follow coding standards, and apply feedback to improve development skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant coursework, coding bootcamp training, or practical web development project experience.

A degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is beneficial but not required.

Work Arrangement
