We are looking for a talented Fullstack Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain features across the full stack — using Python for backend APIs and data processing, and React.js for rich, responsive user interfaces. You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow engineers to ship high-quality software that directly impacts our clients and their hiring workflows. 

Key Responsibilities 

Backend — Python 

• Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services using FastAPI or Django REST Framework 
• Model and optimise database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL or MySQL 
• Build asynchronous processing pipelines using Celery, Redis, or message queues (RabbitMQ / Kafka) 
• Integrate with third-party services: government data APIs, verification providers, and payment gateways 
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Pytest 

Frontend — React.js 

• Develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces with React.js and TypeScript 
• Manage application state using Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or React Query 
• Build and maintain a reusable component library that adheres to the design system 
• Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs and handle real-time data via WebSocket or Server-Sent Events 
• Optimise frontend performance through lazy loading, code splitting, and effective caching strategies 

Collaboration & Engineering Culture 

• Work closely with Product and Design to understand requirements and propose robust technical solutions 
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to raising overall codebase quality and standards 
• Engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives 
• Write clear technical documentation for APIs, modules, and architectural decisions 

Requirements 

Must-Have 

• 3+ years of professional fullstack development experience, with at least 2 years in Python and React.js 
• Strong Python skills: FastAPI or Django, ORM (SQLAlchemy / Django ORM), async programming 
• Strong React.js skills: hooks, context API, TypeScript, and at least one state management library 
• Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and caching layers (Redis) 
• Proficiency with Git, pull request workflows, and collaborative development practices 
• Working knowledge of web application security: JWT/OAuth2, HTTPS, SQL injection, XSS prevention 

Nice-to-Have 

• Experience with containerisation: Docker, Docker Compose 
• Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) or GCP equivalents 
• Knowledge of microservices architecture or domain-driven design (DDD) 
• Experience with Next.js, Vite, or other modern React frameworks 
• Open source contributions or a strong personal project portfolio 

General 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience 
• Good English reading and writing skills for technical documentation; spoken English is a plus 
• Self-motivated, curious, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
