Build technology that shapes global financial markets

If you're a Senior Full Stack Engineer who enjoys working on high-impact products, modern technology and genuinely challenging engineering problems, this could be a great next step.

We're partnering with a major global financial information organisation that is expanding its Manchester technology team. You'll be joining an established engineering environment where your work will contribute to platforms used to support decision-making across global financial markets.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be maintaining an existing codebase. You'll have the opportunity to design, build and improve modern applications, work with emerging technologies including AI, and have real visibility and ownership over what you deliver.

The technology

You'll be working across a modern full-stack environment including:

  • Python, FastAPI / Flask / Pandas
  • React, with TypeScript and Node.js
  • AWS & Kubernetes
  • PostgreSQL / Oracle & MongoDB
  • GitHub Actions & CI/CD
  • Modern cloud-native engineering practices

What you'll be doing

You'll be involved across the full software development lifecycle, including:

  • Designing and developing scalable applications using Python and React
  • Building APIs and backend services with FastAPI / Flask
  • Developing modern, user-focused interfaces with React and TypeScript
  • Working with cloud infrastructure across AWS and Kubernetes
  • Contributing to architecture and technical decisions
  • Improving engineering practices, automation and CI/CD
  • Collaborating with other engineers, product teams and technical stakeholders
  • Exploring and applying AI/ML and emerging technologies where they add genuine value

What we're looking for

We're looking for a strong full-stack engineer who has:

  • Strong commercial Python development experience
  • Solid experience building modern web applications with React
  • Experience with FastAPI or Flask
  • Strong understanding of TypeScript and/or Node.js
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle, plus NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB
  • Good knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD
  • Experience working on production-scale applications and solving complex engineering problems
  • A genuine interest in good engineering practices and modern technology

You don't need to tick every single box. If you're strong in Python and React and have the engineering mindset we're looking for, we'd love to hear from you.

Experience that would be a bonus

Any experience with the following would be particularly interesting:

  • AI / ML / LLMs
  • Kafka
  • PySpark
  • Airflow
  • Streamlit
  • Financial services or other regulated environments

Why consider it?

You'll be joining a stable, globally recognised organisation that is continuing to invest heavily in technology, cloud engineering and AI.

You'll also get:

  • Up to £85,000 + bonus
  • Manchester city centre, hybrid working
  • The opportunity to work on technology with global reach
  • Significant investment in AI and modern engineering
  • Genuine technical ownership rather than simply maintaining legacy systems
  • A clear path towards Senior → Principal → Architect progression
  • An established engineering team with plenty of scope to make an impact

If you're a Senior Python/React Engineer looking for a role where you can work on meaningful technology, develop your career and have genuine ownership, I'd be really keen to speak with you.
